Statement on PBI opposition

“Groups trying to stop development are standing in opposition to a critical solution that addresses New Jersey’s current reality of coastal flooding, beach erosion, and extreme weather events caused by climate change. While we are advocates of civil discourse and engagement from communities, we urge residents to be mindful of prevalent misinformation. The pre-build infrastructure project is a critical piece of onshore transmission that will help the state realize offshore wind’s full potential. By following best practices in environmental science and engineering, such as proper siting, minimizing disruption during construction, and adherence to all state and federal regulations, this infrastructure can be safely and responsibly integrated into our communities and local and regional power grids to provide resilient and reliable power to New Jersey homes. Offshore Wind and related infrastructure is one of many necessary strategies to address the climate crisis and remains a smart environmental and economic solution for New Jersey.”
